How we verify

MedEquip Finder is compiled from public records, not from who paid to be listed.

Sources

• CMS Medical Equipment Suppliers — Every supplier enrolled with Medicare for durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies (DMEPOS): location, phone, supplier type, product categories and whether it accepts assignment. Published by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

We load CMS's Medical Equipment Suppliers file — the same data behind Medicare.gov's supplier directory — and group each supplier's product categories into equipment types such as CPAP, oxygen, wheelchairs and hospital beds.

The file has about 57,000 enrolments. We leave out enrolments that cover only drugs (pharmacies enrolled for nebulizer, infusion or oral anticancer drugs) since this site is about equipment and supplies, and, to stay within our hosting limits, a small number of grocery or department-store pharmacy counters enrolled only for blood glucose supplies. Medicare.gov's supplier directory lists everyone.

“Accepts Medicare assignment” is CMS's own field. Suppliers that accept assignment agree to take the Medicare-approved amount as full payment for covered items.

Order within a city: suppliers that accept assignment first, then by how many equipment types they are enrolled for, then alphabetical. Featured suppliers appear in a separate, labelled box and never change that order.

What a badge means

Enrolled: the supplier appears in CMS's current Medical Equipment Suppliers file, meaning it is enrolled with Medicare to supply the listed product categories. We only publish positive matches. A listing without a badge is not an accusation — most gaps are name variations between registries.

Data was last refreshed on 2026-09-30. CMS updates this file regularly; we re-pull it weekly.
